Greensboro College Recognizes Jennifer Stegall as Outstanding Adult Undergraduate Student

Greensboro, NC (05/06/2024) — Greensboro College has presented Jennifer Stegall, of Eden, with the William Henry and Martha Grant Likins Award as this year's outstanding graduating adult undergraduate student. She received the award along, with her B.A. in Business Administration, during the college's Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 6.

The Likins Award, named for the 16th president of Greensboro College and his wife, was begun in 1993 upon Dr. Likins's retirement from Greensboro College. Established by Dr. Jeanne M. Likins and her husband, Dr. Joseph Flood, to honor her parents, the Likins Award honors a graduating adult undergraduate student who exemplifies the following qualities to which Dr. and Mrs. William Likins were deeply committed:

Academic excellence.

Love of learning.

Commitment to service and leadership in the community.

Perseverance while balancing family, education, career, and community activities.

Belief in the attainment of a dream.

Commitment to the pursuit of lifelong education.

The winner of the award is selected by the full-time faculty from among all nominees.

Greensboro College provides a liberal arts education grounded in the traditions of the United Methodist Church and fosters the intellectual, social, and, spiritual development of all students while supporting their individual needs.

Founded in 1838 and located in downtown Greensboro, the college enrolls about 1,000 students from 29 states and territories, the District of Columbia, and a dozen foreign countries in its undergraduate liberal-arts program and six master's degree programs. In addition to rigorous academics and a well-supported Honors program, the school features a 17-sport NCAA Division III athletic program and dozens of service and recreational opportunities.
