Greensboro College Wrestler, Josh Wilson, Wins NCAA III National Championship

Greensboro, NC (03/18/2024) — On Saturday, March 16, Greensboro College student-athlete, Josh Wilson, won the 141-pound weight class title at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Championships in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Wilson, a native of Greensboro and a graduate of Southeast Guilford, defeated the number-one ranked wrestler, Ohio Northern's Jacob Reed, to win the championship.

Wilson, a junior and a student in the English, Communication, & Media Studies, is the first men's wrestler to win an NCAA National Championship in Greensboro College history. Wilson finishes the season at 30-3, winning the ODAC Conference Tournament, the NCAA Southeast Regionals, and now the NCAA Title. With his performance in this year's tournament, Wilson is now a four-time, NCAA All-American.

Head Coach Justin Harty has now coached his first National Champion wrestler as head coach of the Pride program. Harty is in his third season as head coach for Greensboro College.

After his championship victory, Wilson said, "I am grateful to have had the opportunity to wrestle in this prestigious tournament! To God be the glory. Thank you to my family, friends, coaching staff, athletic training, and teammates for making this achievement possible!"
