Abigail Bugger Inducted into Religion Honor Society at Greensboro College

Abigail Bugger is among five people to have been inducted into Greensboro College's chapter of Theta Alpha Kappa, the national religion honor society.

Bugger is a junior religion and sociology/human services major from Raleigh, N.C.

Theta Alpha Kappa is a national honor society for students of religion and theology. It was founded in 1976 at Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y., and today has more than 200 active chapters. Greensboro College's chapter was chartered in 2002.

To be eligible for induction, students must have attended college for at least three semesters, have amassed 16 credit hours of religion coursework with a 3.5 or better grade-point average, have an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or better, and rank in the top 35 percent of their classes.

Greensboro College provides a liberal arts education grounded in the traditions of the United Methodist Church and fosters the intellectual, social, and, spiritual development of all students while supporting their individual needs.

Founded in 1838 and located in downtown Greensboro, the college enrolls about 1,000 students from 29 states and territories, the District of Columbia, and seven foreign countries in its undergraduate liberal-arts program and four master's degree programs. In addition to rigorous academics and a well-supported Honors program, the school features an 18-sport NCAA Division III athletic program and dozens of service and recreational opportunities.
