Briony K. Lewis Inducted into Sociology Honor Society at Greensboro College

Briony K. Lewis has been inducted into Alpha Kappa Delta, the international sociology honor society.

Lewis is a senior criminal justice and sociology major from Greensboro, N.C.

Alpha Kappa Delta was founded in 1920 at the University of Southern California and now has more than 650 chapters. It is affiliated with the American Sociological Society.

Greensboro College's Omicron chapter was established in 1991. Its advisor is Deirdre Sommerlad-Rogers, professor and chair of the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice.

Inductees must:

• Be a declared sociology major or have a demonstrated interest in sociology.
• Be at least a junior.
• Rank in the top 35% of their academic class.
• Have completed at least four sociology classes at the institution with a grade-point average in those courses of 3.0 or better.
