Caryn Elizabeth Barricks Named to International Educational Honor Society at Greensboro College

Caryn Elizabeth Barricks is among 12 Greensboro College students who were inducted Sunday, March 23, into the college's Psi Mu chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society for education students.

Barricks is a senior elementary-education major from Greensboro, NC.

To be inducted into Kappa Delta Pi at Greensboro College, students must be enrolled in the Teacher Education Program; have demonstrated leadership; have completed 30 or more hours of coursework, of which 12 or more hours must be completed or in progress in education; have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for undergraduates or 3.5 for graduate students; and receive an invitation from the chapter.

Kappa Delta Pi, chartered on March 8, 1911, at the University of Illinois, seeks to sustain an honored community of diverse educators by promoting excellence and advancing scholarship, leadership, and service. It works to help committed educators be leaders in improving education for global citizenship. Greensboro College's Psi Mu chapter was chartered in 1992.

Greensboro College, an independent, coeducational college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, is an academic and social community that unites the liberal arts and Judeo-Christian values in an atmosphere of diversity and mutual respect.
