Greensboro College Vocal Major Kayla Brotherton Advances to Regional Auditions in April

Kayla Brotherton, a vocal music major studying with Tara Sperry, instructor of voice, advanced from the recent statewide auditions held by the National Association of Teachers of Singing to regional auditions to be held April 5-6 in Charleston, S.C.

Sperry, from Greensboro, NC, is competing in the Sophomore Women - Classical category. Brotherton was one of three GC students to take part in the state auditions; all three advanced to regionals. Competitors are judged on such standards as voice characteristics, techniques, musicianship and artistry.

Greensboro College, an independent, coeducational college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, is an academic and social community that unites the liberal arts and Judeo-Christian values in an atmosphere of diversity and mutual respect.
