Four Greensboro College Athletes Earn Weekly Conference Honors
Greensboro, NC (09/15/2025) — The USA South Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday, and four Greensboro College athletes were honored for their performances.
Morgan Mayfield earned volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after a three game stretch with 78 digs, an average of 26 digs per contest. Against conference foe William Peace, Mayfield had a season high 44 digs. She also totaled 10 assists and 6 service aces for the week.
Kyjuan Westmoreland's big performance on the ground earned him football Offensive Rookie of the Week. Westmoreland, a freshman from Mooresville, NC, ran for 173 yards on 22 carries against Roanoke in the team's 32-22 loss on Saturday. His 173 yards is 7th most in a single game in program history.
Westmoreland's teammate, Davarious Jessie, took home Defensive Rookie of the Week after a 6 tackle performance that included 2 sacks and a forced fumble.
Kalle Hermansson had a hat trick on Saturday that earned him Rookie of the Week for men's soccer. Against Mid-Atlantic Christian, the freshman midfielder had 3 goals and 1 assist in the team's 11-2 victory.
