Greensboro College Announces Pamelia McAdoo-Rogers as New Director of Public Safety and Security

Greensboro, NC (06/07/2024) — Greensboro College is pleased to announce that Pamelia McAdoo-Rogers has been named its new Director of Public Safety and Security. McAdoo-Rogers assumed the role on June 1, 2024.

McAdoo-Rogers holds both a bachelor's (Elementary Education) and master's degree (Adult Education) from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T). She has served the Greensboro Police Department and the city for over 30 years in public safety, crime prevention, community engagement, collaborative partnerships, leadership and management of community safety, and trust-building initiatives. A Greensboro native, she retired as a Captain from the Greensboro Police Department after thirty years' service.

"I am genuinely humbled and honored to be entrusted to serve as your Director of Public Safety," said McAdoo-Rogers. "I am committed to fostering a campus environment where safety is paramount; where we work together through collaboration and partnership as a cohesive community to ensure the well-being of all students, faculty and staff."

Throughout her career, she has served in several divisions within the Greensboro Police Department (GPD): Patrol Operations, Resource Management, Operational Support, and Information Services. With her work with the GCPD, she implemented successful community policing initiatives and crime-reduction strategies.

The recipient of several awards, including the Ruth Wicker Tribute to Women, Dr. Vivian Burke Community Leadership Award, and the North State Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award, McAdoo-Rogers has served on local boards and commissions throughout her career. She currently serves as Chair of the Commissioner on the Status of Women-Greensboro and Chair of the Board of Directors for the Family Room Foster Care Resource Center.

She has earned additional executive leadership training through the Governmental Alliance on Race and Equity (GARE), Senior Management Institute for Police, Administrative Officers Management Program, North Carolina State University, Police Leadership Development and Leadership Greensboro. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.

McAdoo-Rogers replaces the recently retired Calvin Gilmore, who served Greensboro College for 42 years.
