Greensboro College Baseball's Evan Sykes Named All-American
Greensboro, NC (05/29/2025) — The D3Baseball.com All-American teams were announced on Wednesday, and Greensboro College Baseball's Evan Sykes was named a Fourth Team All-American. Sykes becomes the first Greensboro Baseball All-American since Jess Maloney in 2006.
Sykes, a Southern Alamance High School graduate, set the program record for home runs in just his junior season after hitting 9 in 2025. He broke the previous record of 19 set by Kevin Mong, Pat Burgess, and Maloney. On the season, Sykes hit .357 with a career high 9 home runs while driving in a career high 48 runs.
Sykes also broke the single season program record for runs scored with 56, and broke into the top 10 in multiple other single-season statistical categories.
Head Coach Chris Fenisey says of Sykes' All-American honor, "Anyone who has spent any time around Evan Sykes knows that this did not happen by accident. He has poured into this program and has been an elite worker since his first day on campus. I am extremely proud of Evan and cannot wait to have a front row seat to watch what is next."
Sykes was named First Team All-Region earlier in the week by D3Baseball.com, and earlier this spring was named USA South Second Team All-Conference.
