Greensboro College Men's Soccer Defeats Guilford 2-0

Greensboro, NC (09/06/2025) — It was a big afternoon on the pitch for Greensboro Men's Soccer (2-0-1) as they defeated Guilford (2-2-0) 2-0 on Saturday. It was the first win over the Quakers since 2017 when Greensboro defeated Guilford 5-0 on September 10, 2017.

Greensboro got on the board early when Jade Diane scored his 4th goal of the season in the 12th minute. From there, Greensboro controlled the pace of play and got help from their keeper, Alvaro Hermosa. Hermosa had 2 saves to keep Guilford off the scoreboard and secured his first shutout of the season.

In the second half, Gustav Ohman scored right in front of the net to make the score 2-0 in the 59th minute. For Ohman, it was his 2nd goal of 2025.

Greensboro out-shot the Quakers in this one 9-7. Guilford had 13 corner kicks on the afternoon but couldn't convert on any of their opportunities.

The team will play again when they host Berry College on Sunday for a noon kickoff at Pride Field.
