Greensboro College Men's Soccer Ties Randolph College 2-2 on Wednesday Night

Greensboro, NC (09/04/2025) — It was a wild second half on Wednesday night as the Greensboro College Men's Soccer team (1-0-1) tied Randolph College (1-0-2) by a score of 2-2 at Pride Field.

The first half saw both teams having opportunities on the offensive end, but fail to score. It looked as if Jade Diane scored midway through the first half for Greensboro, but he was called offsides and it kept the Pride off the scoreboard.

The teams scored 4 combined goals in the second half. The Wildcats scored first in the 41st minute, when Lane Yeboah put one in the back of the net. In the 77th minute, Jade Diane would avenge that would-be first half goal and scored from close range to tie the match, 1-1.

Almost immediately after, however, Randolph scored on a defensive mishap, as Tyler Richardson scored to put the Wildcats ahead 2-1. With just 5 minutes remaining, Axel Garcia-Avila drew a foul in the box that forced a penalty kick. Garcia-Avila would score the PK in the bottom left part of the net to draw the teams even again, 2-2.

Jacopo Canzian made a brilliant save as time expired to secure the 2-2 tie. For the game, Greensboro totaled 17 shots with 9 on goal. Randolph College had 10 shots with 5 on goal. With his goal in the second half, Diane now has 3 goals on the season. Garcia Avila's goal was his first of the year.

The Pride will take on Guilford on Saturday at Pride Field. Game time is set for 1:00 pm.
