Greensboro College Men's Soccer Will Host First Round of Conference Tournament After Defeating William Peace

Greensboro, NC (10/30/2025) — A magical night at Pride Field saw the Greensboro College Men's Soccer team (8-5-4, 3-3-1) come from behind to defeat defending USA South Conference Tournament champions William Peace (8-5-4, 3-1-3) 2-1 to secure a first round home game in the conference tournament this Saturday.

Both teams battled hard throughout the night, but the Pacers scored first in the 10th minute when Roberto Rayo poked one over the head of Pride keeper Alvaro Hermosa to take a 1-0 lead.

With the Pacers still ahead 1-0, freshman Eddie Hemmington rocketed one in the bottom right corner of the goal for his second goal of the season to tie the game in the 54th minute. Just 10 minutes later, Jann-Loic Ndanu-Galo, who was playing in just his fourth game of the season, scored his first collegiate goal for the game-winner.

With the win, Greensboro secured the #4 seed in the conference tournament and will host the first round of the conference tournament for the first time since 2019, when they defeated William Peace 3-2.

The Pacers out-shot Greensboro 11-8, but both teams had 5 shots on goal. Hermosa came through with 4 saves on the night, giving him an even 60 saves on the year.

Greensboro will host Methodist on Saturday night at Pride Field, with game time still TBD.
