Greensboro College's Morgan Mayfield Earns AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention
Greensboro, NC (11/22/2024) — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced their NCAA Division III All-Region teams, and Greensboro's Morgan Mayfield earned Honorable Mention All-Region for Region 6.
Mayfield continues to rack up postseason honors, as she was recently named the USA South Libero of the Year and Second Team All-Conference. Mayfield ranked 5th in NCAA Division III in total digs and 6th in digs per set when the Pride's season finished earlier this month.
This is the sophomore's first All-Region honor of her career. Mayfield also won USA South Rookie of the Year in 2023. This season, Mayfield had 679 digs and 6.23 digs per set. She also totaled 112 assists and 47 service aces.
Mayfield's 6.23 digs/set breaks the USA South single-season record held by Methodist's Blake O'Brien.
