Greensboro College's Watcharakan Chankarn Wins Transylvania Invite

Greensboro, NC (09/01/2025) — Lexington, KY - Watcharakan Chankarn, a Ping Division III All-American in 2024-2025, won the season opening Transylvania Invite on Sunday after posting a three round score of six under par.

Chankarn dominated the final two rounds of the tournament and won by six strokes. He shot two over par in round one, but then shot seven under for the second round and one under in round three.

The win is the first for a Greensboro men's golfer since Andreas Huber in 2022, which also came at the Transylvania Invite.

Inside the Numbers

Chankarn had 11 birdies and 38 pars on the tournament. On par 5s, Chankarn was four under par with a scoring average of 4.67. He shot three under par on par 4s, and one over par on par 3s.

Team Results

As a team, Greensboro finished seventh place out of nineteen teams. Mason Fischer shot ten over par for the tournament, while Harris Wilson shot sixteen over. Cody Stephens shot eighteen over and had a solid round three, shooting two over par.

What's Next

The team will play again in the Gate City Invitational September 15-16 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro.
