Greensboro College Volleyball's Morgan Mayfield Earns USA South Defensive Player of the Week Honors
Greensboro, NC (10/09/2024) — The USA South Athletic Conference announced on Monday that Greensboro volleyball's Morgan Mayfield was named the USA South Defensive Player of the Week.
Mayfield now has three Defensive Player of the Week honors this season. In two matches last week, Mayfield totaled 39 digs, 6.5 digs/set, and 1.83 assists per set as the Pride won both of their games against Brevard and NC Wesleyan.
Head coach Kevin Troup said of Mayfield's honor, "Happy to see Mo getting the recognition as Defensive Player of the Week. She works extremely hard in her position and is constantly striving to be better. I believe in her mind, if the ball crosses the net into our court, it's hers. Regardless of where it is and who may be closest to."
Greensboro hosts Pfeiffer for their next match on October 9th at 7:00 pm.
