Greensboro College is pleased to announce the largest incoming class in its 187-year history. More freshmen than ever began their path to higher education at the College this week. In total, 1012 students are working toward a degree at Greensboro College - a six percent growth from last year at this time.

Vice President of Enrollment Randy Doss credits strong academics, successful athletic teams, campus culture, and the proximity to Greensboro's vibrant downtown as reasons for the upswing. "Students are looking for a college that offers pathways to in-demand careers, and a place they feel like they belong. Greensboro College has both," says Doss.

Greensboro College is still finding new ways to grow stronger and help students do the same, says Greensboro College President Dr. Lawrence Czarda. "Every small, independent college faces challenges, which is why we are constantly looking for innovation in the classroom and the boardroom, so that we can serve today's students and students for generations to come."

Founded by the United Methodist Church in 1838, Greensboro College remains affiliated with the church. The College has 42 undergraduate programs and six master's degree programs and is home to Greensboro College Middle College and Governors School West.

In addition to rigorous academics, superb academic student advising, and top-rated Honors program, Greensboro College features an 18-sport NCAA Division III athletic program and dozens of service and recreational opportunities.
