Greensboro College Women's Basketball Schedule Set For 2024-2025 Season

Greensboro, NC (07/03/2024) — Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro Women's Basketball team has announced their 2024-2025 schedule as they look to return to the USA South Tournament.

The Pride made the USA South Conference tournament a season ago after their tournament victory in 2022-2023. Laquanda Dawkins-Prince returns for her second season leading the Greensboro program. She'll have two key returners in Kensie Harris and Samya Williams to lean on as the team looks to build off their 2023-2024 campaign.

Speaking on the upcoming season, coach Dawkins-Prince stated, "We're excited about the upcoming season. There will be a new look to this year's team. One thing that doesn't change is our standards and expectations. We are building with the right players, accountability, discipline, commitment, hard work and effort, and positive things will come our way. The understanding is that our players commit to working hard in all aspects related to the program, play fiercely on the court but to be achievers in life through academics and community service. With a solid recruiting class, we have versatility, winning experienced players who know how to win with deliberate accountability and guidance. The new positive leadership and commitment follows with enthusiasm and belief in our program's culture.

We look forward to learning about our players, learning what they can do on and off the court while putting a game plan together for the upcoming season. We're going to assemble all these pieces and we're going to put it together and build forward. We don't know how good we're going to be, and that's not the priority now. We're taking the individual parts and getting ourselves aligned in the direction that we desire to go. With the foundation, with our culture, with how we grow with each other, and compete while building the right way. Then the outcomes will take care of themselves. Our schedule will prepare this team for challenging conference and postseason opportunities. Our highlighted games include a nationally ranked team, our rival ODAC schools, NCAA Division I opponent, along with thirteen home games in Hanes Gymnasium."

Greensboro begins the year with four straight home games, beginning November 8th with Virginia Wesleyan. The team will host cross-town rival Guilford College on November 20th, and the first USA South Conference game takes place one game later against Pfeiffer on November 23rd.

The Pride will host Christopher Newport, who ended the year ranked #14 on the final d3hoops.com 2023-2024 national rankings, on November 26th. Greensboro will also play an exhibition game at neighboring Division I opponent UNC Greensboro on December 31st.
