Jackson's Career Night Leads Greensboro to First Win of Season
Greensboro, NC (11/11/2025) — DJ Jackson scored a career-high 30 points in Greensboro Men's Basketball's (1-1) 96-89 win over St. Mary's (1-1) on Monday night.
Greensboro led for the majority of the night after a dominant first half. The Pride scored 50 first half points and hit 5 three-pointers.
The second half saw the Seahawks inch closer, closing a 13 point halftime deficit. They would eventually tie the game 62-62 with 11:40 to play. Greensboro took off on a 7-0 run after the Seahawks tied the game, however, and went back up 69-62.
They would later extend the lead back to 10 points, but with 4:30 to play St. Mary's trimmed the lead to just 1 again. Greensboro would close the game out on an 18-12 run to close out the Seahawks and secure their first win of the year.
Jackson's career night included going 16-17 from the free throw line and 7-15 from the field. He also dished out 9 assists. Nygie Stroman scored 17 points on the night while Griffin Powell scored 15. Jeremiah Howard had a solid 10 point, 5 rebound game.
Greensboro will travel to Averett for their next contest on Friday night at 6:00 pm.
