Six Greensboro College Student-Athletes Earn Conference Honors
Greensboro, NC (02/23/2026) — The USA South Conference announced their weekly conference awards on Monday, and six Greensboro College student-athletes were recognized in three different sports.
In men's lacrosse, Alex Mattoon earned Offensive Player of the Week while Braeden Mitchell was named Defensive Player of the Week. Mattoon totaled 18 points, 13 goals, 5 assists, and 6 ground balls in two wins over Guilford and Averett. Mitchell earned two wins in goal while totaling 16 saves.
Softball took two weekly honors, as Anna Frazier was named Pitcher of the Week while Kenly Brown earned Rookie Pitcher of the Week. In 12.0 innings, Frazier gave up just 1 earned run and threw a complete game shutout against Averett. Brown had two appearances and gave up 0 runs in 6.1 innings pitched.
Evan Sykes earned Baseball Player of the Week after hitting .500 (8-16) with a .529 on-base percentage. He also had a home run, 6 RBI, and 5 runs scored. Freshman Brayden Sands was named Rookie of the Week after hitting .571 (8-14) and slugging .929. He scored 9 runs, drove in 4 runs, and also hit a home run.
