Greensboro College Men's Basketball Releases 2024-2025 Schedule
Greensboro, NC (07/03/2024) — Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro Men's Basketball team has released its 2024-2025 season schedule. The Pride are coming off a 2023-2024 season that saw them finish second in the USA South regular season standings and reach the USA South Conference Tournament finals.
Head Coach Jim Boone will begin his second season leading the Greensboro program. Boone says of the upcoming season, "We are very excited about this year's team. We have a great combination of winning experience and a group that understands not only who we are, but how we go about winning. The leadership and commitment from seniors Isaiah Pruett and Grant Thompson will provide our group with positive and intentional direction and guidance. This, coupled with an outstanding recruiting class, leads to our optimism and belief in this year's team. Our schedule, as always, is as difficult as it gets with nationally ranked teams, NCAA Tournament programs, and our rival ODAC schools. In addition, we intentionally scheduled three tournament opportunities to prepare this group for the toughness and rigors of a postseason opportunity. The schedule is highlighted by games with last season's number eight ranked Christopher Newport, North Carolina Wesleyan, third ranked Guilford College in the Greensboro Coliseum, along with eleven home games in Hanes Gym."
The new season begins on November 9th at the Roger Taylor Invitational in Rocky Mount, NC. The Pride will take on Christopher Newport, who made it to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament a season ago, on November 9th followed by Eastern Mennonite on November 10th.
The first home game takes place against Regent University on November 13th. The team will travel to play in the Bridgewater College Invitational November 15th and 16th. They will play Eastern Mennonite once again on the 15th and then take on Bridgewater on the 16th.
Greensboro will play inside the Greensboro Coliseum against cross-town rival Guilford on November 20th for the second year in a row. The Pride will travel to Division II UNC Pembroke for an exhibition game on December 21st to close out 2023.
To open 2025, Greensboro hosts Sewanee before the USA South Conference part of the schedule begins on January 7th at William Peace. A rematch of the USA South Conference Championship game happens on January 21st when the Pride host Mary Baldwin. The final home game of the season takes place on February 18th against Brevard.
