Sofia P. Sedergren has been inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha national political-science honor society.

Sherold Dean Michaux Jr. has been inducted into Greensboro College's chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national honor society for political science.

The national honor society recognizes top performers in the junior and senior classes.

Inductees must have cumulative grade-point averages of 3.0 for undergraduates and 3.5 for graduate students.

Eight GC students were inducted into Sigma Delta Tau, the international honor society for students of English language and literature.

Inductees must must have attended college for at least three semesters, have amassed 16 credit hours of religion coursework with a 3.5 or better grade-point average, have an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or better, and rank in the top 35 percent of their classes.

Induction into Alpha Phi Sigma signifies academic excellence both overall and within the discipline for criminal-justice majors and minors.

Earning induction into the Psi Chi international honor society in psychology by being at least second-semester sophomores, being enrolled as psychology majors or minors, having completed at least nine semester hours or 14 quarter hours of psychology courses, having an overall GPA in the top 35% of their respective classes and at least a 3.0 overall average on a 4.0 scale, and have at least a 3.0 average in their psychology courses.

Induction into Phi Alpha Theta requires at least 12 credit hours in History with a minimum grade-point average of 3.1 in those courses and 3.0 overall, as well as an overall academic ranking in the top 35 percent of one's class.

To qualify, students must have completed at least half their required courses for a business administration degree with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and rank academically in the top 20% of their class.

Seniors ranking in the top 10% of their class and juniors ranking in the top 5% of their class are eligible for induction into Greensboro College's North Carolina Xi chapter of the Alpha Chi national honor society.
