Three Greensboro College students have been inducted into the college's chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta, the national honor society in sociology.

Three Greensboro College students have been inducted into the college's chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma, the national honor society in criminal justice.

Timothy Samuel Crowell, a graduating senior at Greensboro College, has won a $1,000 graduate fellowship from Alpha Chi, a national, interdisciplinary honor society. He won for his senior thesis titled, "Hollywood Therapy: The Portrayal of Mental Health Professionals in American Film from 2010 to 2017." The competition involved seniors from colleges in the eight Southeastern states of Alpha Chi's Region III.

Greensboro College has honored more than two dozen students with awards and scholarships recognizing their academic achievement in 2019-2020.

Greensboro College's chapter of Phi Alpha Theta, the national honor society in history, has inducted six new members. Phi Alpha Theta, the nation's oldest disciplinary honor society, was founded in 1921 at the University of Arkansas. Greensboro College's chapter was chartered in 2001 and is advised by Professor Michael Sistrom. Inductees must have earned at least 12 credit hours in the discipline, with a grade-point average of 3.1 or better in those courses and an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or better. They also must rank in the top 35 percent of their class.

Greensboro College's chapter of the business honor society Delta Mu Delta has inducted two new members.

Greensboro College's chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national honor society in political science, has inducted five new members. Pi Sigma Alpha was founded in 1920 at the University of Texas. Greensboro College's Chi Beta chapter was established in 1998. Undergraduate inductees must be at least juniors who have completed at least 10 semester-credits of work in political science, including at least one upper-division course, with an average grade of B or higher in those courses. Also, their overall GPA must place them in the top one-third of their class.

Sixteen members of Greensboro College's Class of 2021 have been designated student marshals for the 2020-2021 academic year. Student marshals are the students with the highest-ranking grade-point averages in the junior class. They conduct ceremonies at the college, including the Baccalaureate/Cap and Gown and Commencement.
