Greensboro College Announces 2025 Athletics Hall of Fame Class

Greensboro, NC (08/26/2025) — Greensboro, NC - Greensboro College Athletics has announced the Hall of Fame Class of 2025 on Thursday. The class includes three players, one head coach, and one team.

Tracey Comune was a two sport athlete, as she ran cross country and was part of the women's swimming team. As a senior, Comune earned DIAC First Team honors and ran in the NCAA Regionals in 2001, where she broke the fastest 5K time in school history with a time of 20:05.

Reggie Koranteng was a key member of multiple NCAA Tournament teams for the men's soccer program. Koranteng still sits tied for first all-time in games played in program history and second in games started. He was a DIAC Second Team All-Conference selection in 2000, a 2002 Second Team All-American, First Team All-South Region, and First Team All-Conference selection. The team reached the NCAA Tournament each season of Koranteng's career, including reaching the NCAA Quarterfinals in 1999 and 2001.

Roy Tesh goes into the Hall of Fame as perhaps the most accomplished offensive lineman in Greensboro College Football history. Tesh played from 1999-2002, earning ACFC Honorable Mention in his freshman season, while being named DIAC First Team All-Conference in 2000 and 2002 and Second Team All-Conference in 2001. Tesh is currently an assistant coach at East Carolina University.

Steve Johnson is one of the most accomplished coaches in Greensboro College history. A member of the Greensboro College class of 1980, Johnson has been the head coach of three different programs (men's golf, women's golf, and women's basketball) during his career. During his tenure as women's basketball coach from 1992-1997, Johnson amassed 90 wins one DIAC Coach of the Year honor, coached 7 All-Conference players, and led the program to a DIAC Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament berth in 1996-1997. Johnson had two stints leading the men's golf program. Johnson was named DIAC Co-Coach of the Year in 1991 while being named Coach of the Year in 1992. The 1992 season saw Greensboro capture the DIAC Championship as well, earning the second consecutive season the team, led by Johnson, made the NCAA Tournament.

The 2010 Greensboro Softball team had a historic run to the NCAA Tournament, capturing the USA South Conference Tournament Championship. Rebecca Pink and Hannah Pennell captured First Team All-Conference honors, while Brittany Parsons, Heather Nellis, and Cyndel Henson earned Second Team All-Conference. Pink would also win USA South Player of the Year and the USA South Tuornament MVP, Pennell took home USA South Rookie Pitcher of the Year, and head coach Whitney Gelin earned USA South Conference Coach of the Year.

This year's induction ceremony and dinner will take place on Friday, October 24 as part of Homecoming Weekend.
